Getting Here – Life’s a Beach Backpackers

Directions

The city of Quy Nhon has good transport links although they may not be at the most convenient times of day.

BY AIR

Quy Nhon airport (UIH) has a number of flights daily from Saigon and Hanoi. The easiest way to get to us is by taxi. This journey takes about 1 ¼ hours. We can arrange a taxi to meet you on arrival and bring you here for 550,000 VND payable directly to the driver – we do not take a cut. You could also take the shuttle bus to the Vietnam Airlines office on Mai Xuan Thuong. From there it is a 10 minute walk to the main bus terminal outside KFC where you can catch the T11 bus south towards Xuan Hai (pronounced Soong Hi) for 9000 VND. These buses leave approximately once per hour between 05:30 and 17:15 with a break for lunch. Please check your e-mails regularly before your flight as the flight times can change in the days leading up to your departure. If you have a taxi booked with us then remember to keep us informed.

BY RAIL

There are two railways stations nearby:

Quy Nhon train station is a 15 minute walk from the main bus terminal outside KFC where you can catch the T11 bus south towards Xuan Hai (pronounced Soong Hi) for 9000 VND. These buses leave approximately once per hour between 05:30 and 17:15 with a break for lunch. We can arrange a taxi to meet you on arrival and bring you here for 250,000 VND payable directly to the driver – we do not take a cut.

Dieu Tri train station is on the Reunification line. This is about 30 minutes away by taxi. We can arrange a taxi to meet you on arrival and bring you here for 350,000 VND payable directly to the driver – we do not take a cut.

BY BUS

Most buses arrive into Quy Nhon at the bus station on Tay Son in front of the Big C and Metro shopping centres. Very often they will let you off at the Petrol station in front of the bus station. From there you can catch the T11 bus south from in front of the Metro store towards Xuan Hai (pronounced Soong Hi) for 9000 VND. These buses leave approximately once per hour between 05:30 and 17:15 with a break for lunch. Alternatively you can catch a taxi from the bus station to us for about 250,000 VND. Unfortunately, we cannot arrange for a taxi to collect you from the bus station as the arrival times for the buses are very unreliable. We do not advise you to take a motorbike taxi as they rarely have a helmet for you to wear.

If you are coming from the south you can usually get the bus driver to let you out at our main gate. Track your journey on Google Maps as he is unlikely to know the exact position and once you’re off the bus we are unlikely to be able to determine your position.

BY TAXI

If you are going to get a taxi yourself then please make sure you have clear instructions for how to reach us as many taxi drivers are unaware of us. Ask for Xuan Hai (pronounced Soong Hi). We can arrange for a taxi to meet you from the Airport or Train Station. He will meet you with a sign with your name, wait should your arrival time be delayed and bring you straight here. This is a fixed price taxi but priced according to a metered taxi. You pay the driver directly – we do not take a cut.

We are actually 2km before you reach Xuan Hai. You will pass our original Life’s a Beach resort on your left hand side, then Avani spa and Bai Bao before you reach us – we have a big blue sign on the left outside saying “Life’s a Beach Backpackers”
